Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced, high-energy Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at a rustic on-site summer camp. You will oversee all prep and production for a designated day part, manage staff, and ensure allergen safety while maintaining top sanitation standards.

This live-in, full-time seasonal position runs May–Sept, with competitive pay, a performance bonus, free room & board, and travel allowance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date.
• Strong leadership, cooking, able to navigate iPad, versatile with ingredients, identify all Big 9 Allergens, and sharp problem-solving abilities.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, work in hot/cold kitchen settings, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to live on-site in a rustic setting and work a demanding minimum 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee prep and production for designated day part; ensure menu specs and scratch cooking.
• Manage allergen protocols (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.) and sanitation standards.
• Handle inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
