Cella by Randstad Digital is seeking a sharp editor to drive live sports app notifications. You’ll balance fast, accurate delivery with cross-platform promotion, focusing on nights and weekends to maximize audience engagement.

You’ll work with marketing and streaming teams, delivering editorial judgment and data-driven insights to keep digital properties sticky for sports fans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in sports journalism, digital content creation, copy editing, or digital marketing.
• Deep knowledge of major sports, with emphasis on football, combat sports, and soccer.
• Clean, concise writing skills under tight deadlines.
• Willingness and flexibility to work a non-standard schedule focused on nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida or NYC office

Job Type: Contract

Compensation Range: $30.00 - 35.79 per hour

We are looking for a sharp, fast-paced editor to drive our dynamic mobile app notifications workflow during live sports events. In this role, you will deliver the voice, speed, and accuracy of our app alerts-balancing key news delivery for sports fans with strategic cross-platform promotion.

The position is heavily tied to nights and weekends, working closely with our marketing and streaming distribution teams to maximize live viewership and audience re-engagement. Joining a dedicated content and programming team, you will help make our digital properties stickier through a blend of editorial judgment and data insights. The ideal candidate understands storytelling at both the journalistic and promotional levels and knows how to connect with digital subscribers.

Responsibilities

• Help identify emerging news, storylines, and key moments from live sports games and events in real time.
• Draft, clear, and deploy mobile push notifications to drive immediate audience engagement and app return rates.
• Work within an alerts and content programming team that balances editorial standards, promotional goals, and data-driven audience analysis.
• Manage homepage content and assist with copy-editing as needed to maintain high editorial quality across platforms.
• Partner with internal marketing and streaming teams on cross-promotional storytelling initiatives, particularly during peak weekend and evening sports windows.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in sports journalism, digital content creation, copy editing, or digital marketing.
• Sports Knowledge: Deep, broad knowledge of major sports, with a strong emphasis on football, combat sports, and soccer.
• Communication: Clean, concise, and efficient writing skills under tight deadlines.
• Availability: Willingness and flexibility to work a non-standard schedule focused primarily on nights, weekends, and major live sporting events.

Soft Skills & Working Style

• Ability to prioritize and make rapid editorial decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Adaptability and schedule flexibility to align with live sports broadcast calendars.
• A hybrid mindset capable of balancing journalistic integrity with audience-growth promotional goals.

Required Tools & Technology

• Experience with mobile push notification / mobile alert management systems.
• Proficiency with digital Content Management Systems (CMS).

Nice-to-Haves

• Direct experience writing and editing according to AP Style guidelines.
• Familiarity with using AI tools to enhance editorial workflow efficiency.
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating digital sports writing, copywriting, or mobile alerts.
