Job summary

Solomon Page is seeking a Sports Alerts Editor for a freelance role based in NYC, with onsite requirement. The position runs through July 2027 with potential to extend, and can be based in Fort Lauderdale or NYC offices.

You will monitor live sports developments, craft timely alerts, and push notifications to engage audiences while collaborating with editorial and marketing teams to balance storytelling and data-driven decisions, including weekend and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2–3 years of experience in sports journalism, content creation or marketing.
• Broad sports knowledge, with emphasis on football, combat sports and soccer.
• Clean, efficient writing.
• Willingness to regularly work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identify news and storylines from sports games and events in real time.
• Send mobile notifications to drive audience engagement.
• Work within an alerts and content programming team balancing editorial decisions, promotions and data analysis.
• Partner with Marketing to support storytelling, especially during nights and weekends.

We are hiring a Sports Alerts Editor to join a top entertainment company based in NYC. This freelance role will run until July 2027 with potential to extend and will be fully onsite. They are open to this person being based in their Fort Lauderdale or NYC office.

• Pay Rate: $35/HR

Responsibilities

• Help identify news and storylines emerging from sports games and events in a live Setting
• Send mobile notifications to our audience, driving engagement
• Work within an alerts and content programming team that balances editorial decision-making, promotional requirements and data-driven analysis of audience behavior
• Partner with the Marketing team to help storytelling efforts, particularly in nights and weekends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-3 years of experience in sports journalism, content creation or marketing
