Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited seeks a Mining Engineer for our Pogo operation in Alaska on a 15 days on, 13 days off remote camp schedule. The role focuses on the safe design and implementation of mine plans and systems within the Technical Service Team, delivering designs, schedules and support for production and planning.

You will work with a dynamic team to develop underground drift and fill designs, production schedules, and safety improvements while advancing skills in Deswik and related

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years underground mining experience.
• Experience in hard rock underground mining, preferably gold.
• Experience with Deswik or other mine design software.
• High level analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Commitment to safety and environmental management.

Responsibilities

• Generate and implement underground drift and fill stope designs.
• Generate short and medium term production schedules.
• Present weekly production schedules to mine operations and geology departments.
• Establishing and monitoring mine ventilation network designs.
• Establishing and implementing paste backfill designs.
• Establishing and implementing ground control and support designs.
• Performing financial evaluations and cost analyses for operating and capital project justification.
• Identifying, communicating and assisting to resolve safety hazards.
• Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
• Other duties as required.
