Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX NST) invites applications for a Projects Engineer at the Pogo operation in Alaska on a 21 day on, 21 day off rotating schedule. The Projects Engineer reports to the Project Manager and provides project management support and technical advice for processing function projects, ensuring sound engineering practices.

The role requires degree in Mining, Civil, Structural or Mechanical and 1+ year underground experience, with a competitive remuneration package

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining, Civil, Structural or Mechanical from a recognized tertiary institution, or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of professional level project management experience with leadership roles on large projects.
• Awareness of MSHA Act & Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management on projects through all phases including feasibility, design, planning, permitting, procurement, execution, commissioning and optimization.
• Management of contractors and contractor performance for infrastructure projects.
• Provide engineering advice and support to management and peers.
• Assist with budgeting and scheduling for capital allocations within annual budgets.
• Review capital expenditure requests for technical and commercial approvals.
• Assist with regulatory compliance activities including licensing and permitting of capital developments.
• Perform routine compliance auditing related to internal and external engineering standards.
• Liaise with site personnel and assist operations.
• Challenge existing operational paradigms with a focus towards future innovation.
