Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking an Underground Miner for the Pogo operation in Alaska on a rotational camp schedule.

The role involves safely operating underground equipment and providing support to Underground Electricians. A strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to MSHA requirements is required. Camp life includes on-site facilities and transportation to Fairbanks, Delta Junction, and Tok.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge is required.
• Good communication skills in English are essential.
• Basic computer literacy is expected.
• Ability to provide leadership and train new team members.
• Must understand safe operating procedures and MSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform general labor and housekeeping tasks.
• Ensure tools/equipment are serviceable and safe.
• Communicate clearly on two-way radio.
• Assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance.
• Assess ground conditions and conduct scaling as required.
• Install services and ventilation to development/production headings.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
