Job summary

The position requires a Bachelor's in education, Alaska Type B certification preferred, and a background in curriculum mapping, evaluation, and program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education required.
• State of Alaska Type 'B' certificate preferred.
• Two years administrative experience preferred.
• Knowledge of culturally relevant curriculum development, interpretation, and evaluation required.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively in multilingual/multicultural environment required.
• Ability to work, live and travel in remote areas of Alaska required.
• Progressive professional attitude; ability to implement educational change required.
• Ability to work and contribute as a member of a management team required.
• Knowledge of current trends and issues in education required.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate a bank of instructional videos showing high-quality practices and cultural relevance for NSBSD teachers.
• Coordinate external contractors on secondary curriculum development for the Atuumalakput Iñupiaguniqput Project.
• Assist in continual upgrading of district-wide curriculum and programs.
• Organize pedagogical methods and curriculum & instruction training programs and staff development activities.
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
• Coordinate district-wide instructional functions such as review committees and curriculum council meetings.
• Assist instructional teams in evaluating the quality of district programs against priorities and standards.
• Adhere to district policies and regulations.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Director of Inupiaq Education.
