Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Alaska Teacher Certificate or Type M Certificate required.
• CTE/STEAM experience preferred; ACE, PBIS, Restorative Circles experience preferred; Inupiaq language/culture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain competency in subject matter areas of certification and assignment.
• Assess student proficiency using formative and summative data and plan long-range programs.
• Foster harmonious relationships with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Promote NSBSD goals per Board of Education Strategic Plan.
• Develop awareness of local culture and provide bicultural/multicultural instruction.
• Supervise and train instructional paraprofessionals as needed.
• Write and submit weekly lesson plans and maintain digital copies.
• Adhere to District policies and regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
