North Slope Borough School District in Alaska seeks a qualified educator to implement research-based strategies and foster a classroom culture that supports learning for all students. Instruction is individualized, with frequent assessment driving decisions and flexible methods.

The role requires Alaska teacher certification and a degree in education, with a preference for CTE/STEAM and bicultural or multicultural instruction experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Alaska Teacher Certificate or Type M Certificate required.
• CTE and/or STEAM experience preferred.
• Knowledge & experience with ACE, PBIS, and Restorative Circles preferred.
• Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintain competency in subject matter areas of certification and assignment; training provided for new subjects.
• Use assessments to identify student proficiency and plan programs based on data.
• Foster harmonious relationships with students, parents, staff and community.
• Promote District goals and participate in educational committees.
• Develop bicultural or multicultural instruction responding to community needs.
• Supervise and train instructional paraprofessionals and maintain ethics and standards.
• Write weekly lesson plans and maintain digital copies throughout the year.
• Adhere to District policies and perform additional tasks as assigned.
