Job summary

Per Mar Security Services is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and test electronic security systems—burglar and fire alarms, CCTV, and access control—in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Starting pay ranges from $20-$35 hourly based on experience, plus an incentive program of up to 10% of annual pay, tool allowance, company vehicle, cell phone, and competitive benefits. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required for all Per Mar Security Services positions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug tests.
• Must obtain state-specific licenses/certifications for security industry work.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Strong mathematical skills including calculating figures and amounts; basic algebra and geometry knowledge.
• Knowledge of fire and electrical codes for safe installation of alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire specified alarm system devices.
• Test and verify that systems and devices function properly per manufacturer specifications.
• Use multimeters for volts and OHM readings and circuit analysis.
• Program alarm systems via programmer or keypad.
• Explain and demonstrate to customers how the alarm system works.
• Complete proper paperwork and submit to the appropriate department daily.
• Communicate with clients, co-workers and Per Mar's Central Monitoring Station.
• All other reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
