SEIU United Service Workers West (SEIU-USWW) in Alameda, CA seeks a Research position to support statewide campaigns and investigations. You will work with campaign teams, field organizers and policy staff to research companies, industries and development projects.

Minimum qualifications include a 2-year research track record and a commitment to social justice. Travel within California, off-hour work, and a full-time office setting are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Two years of research experience in quantitative or qualitative methods.
• Commitment to social and economic justice and improving workers' lives.
• Experience with labor unions, public policy, or non-profits.
• Knowledge of union organizing practice and principles.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in diverse teams.
• Strong planning, time management and independent work ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication across audiences.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, social media, databases and teleconferencing.

Responsabilités

• Conduct online, local and field research on companies, industries or real estate projects.
• Develop company analyses and adapt for union leadership, workers, stockholders and regulators.
• Identify and analyze new development projects and represent the union in planning and political approvals.
• Develop and implement campaign strategies and tactics.
• Support campaigns through organizing, field actions and politics as needed.
