Job summary

SEIU (Service Employees International Union) is seeking a Field Researcher to provide vital research support for organizing campaigns, bargaining, and other departmental activities. This role involves data gathering, analysis, and collaboration with SEIU Local Unions and Affiliates to advance campaigns across industries.

You will develop and implement weekly work plans, synthesize large data sets, and pursue answers with persistence, while growing your research skills in a dynamic labor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of research experience, or equivalent combination.
• Experience in quantitative or qualitative research, including student work.
• Knowledge of research techniques and quantitative analysis.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software and online research services.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Researches, compiles, presents, and summarizes data on industries, companies, individuals, issues, and other topics in support of SEIU’s programs.
• Synthesizes relevant facts/issues from a large amount of information/data.
• Works with Local Union and International Union staff to gather, analyze, and provide relevant information in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and persistence in pursuing answers and follow-ups.
• Develops and implements weekly work plans to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
• Develops and applies new skills to support research assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the department and its mission.
