Job summary

SP+ is seeking a Wheelchair Assistant at our Portland airport facility. You will help passengers in wheelchairs, push them to gates, and assist with luggage while maintaining a friendly, safety-conscious approach.

The role requires being 18+, eligible to work in the United States, ability to pass background and drug screening, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move up to 300 lbs. Salary is $19.36 per hour plus tips, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to clear a background and drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300 lbs.
• Ability to lift passengers from the wheelchair to the plane seat.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to obtain an airport badge.

Responsibilities

• Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates
• Roll customer-occupied wheelchair safely down the jet bridge
• Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to exiting the wheelchair
• Complete wheelchair or incident reports
• Follow dispatcher gate orders
• Maintain a friendly and positive attitude and assist passengers with problems
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and airport staff
• Exceed customer service standards
• Carry out other duties as assigned
