Job summary

Hudson Group at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is hiring a Retail Shift Manager I. You will support store operations, coach hourly associates, and ensure high standards of customer service and visual merchandising per brand guidelines.

This non-exempt role requires 2+ years in retail or customer service and at least 6 months in a supervisory capacity. Training and growth opportunities are provided along with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of supervisory or lead experience in retail, specialty retail, or customer service environment.
• Book retail experience or active reading interest preferred.
• Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
• Knowledge of POS systems and retail management software.

Responsibilities

• Executes SOPs during shifts with regular operational checks and coaching to maintain standards.
• Keeps displays clean, stocked, and visually appealing; monitors equipment and reports maintenance needs.
• Reviews and approves timekeeping punches and monitors overtime to ensure compliance with labor laws and budget objectives.
• Assigns tasks to associates and ensures rest breaks and meal periods comply with labor regulations.
• Coaches associates to improve performance and maintain brand standards; escalates issues to leadership when needed.
• Operates POS systems and processes transactions while following cash handling policies.
• Monitors inventory levels and reports discrepancies and stock-out situations to management.
• Ensures compliance with retail policies and trains staff on brand standards and visual merchandising.
