Charlotte Douglas International Airport seeks a Deputy Director, Airport/Chief Infrastructure Officer to lead strategic planning, delivery, and long-term stewardship of its aviation infrastructure program.

This executive role oversees capital development, engineering, maintenance, asset management, and infrastructure modernization initiatives, directing complex projects within scope, schedule, and budget while collaborating with internal departments, regulators, consultants, and industry

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience required.
• Flight/aviation related coursework preferred.
• Experience in airport/aviation environment essential.
• Proven track record managing large capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and execution of airport infrastructure and capital development programs.
• Oversee engineering, maintenance, asset management, and modernization initiatives.
• Direct delivery of complex capital projects with scope, schedule, and budget control.
• Develop long-range infrastructure strategies for growth and resilience.
• Collaborate with internal departments, regulators, consultants, and partners.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and standards.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Represent the organization in executive discussions on infrastructure planning and investment.
