Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Deputy Director, Airport/Chief Infrastructure Officer for Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to lead strategy, capital projects, and long‑term infrastructure stewardship. You will oversee multi‑disciplinary teams and collaborate across departments, regulators, and industry partners to advance aviation initiatives.

Requirements include a Master’s degree with five years (or a Bachelor’s with seven) in aviation, engineering, or public administration,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus five years of experience in aviation or public infrastructure.
• Experience in airport or aviation environments highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and execution of airport infrastructure and capital development.
• Oversee engineering, maintenance, and asset management efforts.
• Direct complex capital project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop long-range infrastructure strategies for growth and resilience.
• Collaborate with internal teams, regulators, consultants, and partners.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Represent the organization in executive discussions on infrastructure planning and investment.
