Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority seeks an Airport Asset and Facilities Services Department Manager to oversee asset management, facilities operations, tenant project management, and related programs for IAD and DCA.

You will direct engineering coordination, approve tenant construction permits, manage budgets, and develop environmental, health, and safety programs to maintain airport infrastructure and service levels.

Qualifications

• Nine years of progressively responsible experience in asset and facilities management, project management, facilities operations, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage the operations and programs of the unit/team.
• Knowledge of professional construction principles, facilities and asset management, utility operations, maintenance trades, building codes and standards, and regulatory requirements, and ability to advise on tenant construction projects, resource allocation, planning, budgeting, and monitoring of facilities and asset management issues.
• Knowledge of asset management and ability to lead an integrated approach to facility maintenance and renewal with an emphasis on primary accountability, effective execution, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of airport assets and construction, modification, repair, and maintenance of airport structures, facilities, and infrastructure.
• Monitor work performed under service contracts to ensure quality, quantity, and timeliness; balance in-house and contracted work.
• Oversee tenant project management and approve building permits for tenant construction projects; ensure compliance with plans, codes, and standards.
• Oversee passenger conveyance programs and investments (IAD only) to achieve acceptable levels of service.
• Coordinate asset and facilities services with Airport Manager, Engineering, and other departments to support capital projects.
• Advise the Airport Manager on tenant projects and asset and facilities management matters.
• Develop and conform to environmental, health, and safety programs; review manuals and plans as needed.
• Forecast and monitor budgets for staffing, assets, facilities, service contracts, equipment, and operations; conduct quarterly reviews.
