TxDOT Fort Worth District is seeking Construction Inspector I or II for the Stephenville area. You will inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure roadways, bridges, traffic signals, airports and related structures meet plans and specs, while coordinating with project engineers and contractors.

The position requires driving a state vehicle, may require a pre-employment physical, weekend/holiday work, and offers a broad benefits package including retirement plans and tuition

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Construction Inspector I: No experience required; II: 1 year related experience.
• Substitutions for minimum qualifications with college education or technical training accepted.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive a state vehicle.
• Construction Inspector I and II competencies include knowledge of laws, regulations, safety, engineering principles, and communication.

Responsabilidades

• Inspects construction methods and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Consults with project engineers and contractors on work progress and problems; reviews time/cost estimates.
• Monitors phasing, traffic control plans, and safety standards; inspects barricades and moves traffic control devices as needed.
• Maintains records, approves/payments, and prepares reports; supports plan development.
