Job summary

United Ground Express, Inc. at Sioux Falls Regional Airport is hiring an airport passenger services agent.

You will greet passengers, check in, and issue boarding passes using reservation software, while rebooking itineraries and collecting applicable fees to keep flights on schedule. This role requires physical stamina to lift up to 70 lbs, the ability to stand for long periods, and comfort with computers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Fingerprint clearance, airport badging and background check required.
• Pre-employment process including drug screen, hearing and vision checks.
• Available to work day or night shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to lift and carry bags up to 70 lbs.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid US state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Greeting passengers and providing a seamless check-in and ticketing experience.
• Use reservation/ticketing software to rebook itineraries, issue boarding passes, and collect fees.
• Ensure passenger information is processed accurately for on-time flights.
• Listen to passengers and resolve issues following company policies during disruptions.
• May work in Baggage Service Office to track baggage and answer passenger questions.
• Operate computers and mobile devices; adapt to new technologies.
• Stand and walk for an eight-hour shift; lift and handle baggage up to 70 lbs.
• Read baggage tags and cargo labels to guide handling.
• Prepare and secure aircraft for the next flight.
• Use radios to communicate with coworkers and flight crew.
• Comply with United and FAA regulations and policies.
• Lift baggage up to 70 lbs; may handle up to 100 items per aircraft.
• Push/pull carts during loading/unloading; assist with jet-way stairs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
