Job summary

SkyWest Airlines is hiring airport agents in Joplin, MO to deliver excellent customer service while performing ticketing, rebooking, boarding, and baggage tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role is part-time, outdoors in all weather, requires at least a HS diploma, ability to lift 50 pounds, pass background check and drug screening, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older (from minimum requirements).
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license (state-issued).
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Able to lift 50 pounds with/without accommodations.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload customer luggage, airfreight, and mail onto/off aircraft.
• Greet passengers, issue tickets, assign seats, check baggage, rebook as needed.
• Escort passengers with special needs safely and courteously.
• Marshal aircraft in/out of ramp area.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Service aircraft as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Job Duties

Airport agents are primarily responsible for ensuring excellent customer service while performing a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to ticketing and rebooking passengers, boarding flights, assisting passengers with special needs, resolving customer concerns, and more.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer luggage, airfreight, and company mail onto and off aircraft
• Greet passengers, issue tickets, provide seat assignments, check baggage, board flights, assist customers who arrive without their luggage, and rebook passengers, all in a prompt and friendly manner
• Escort passengers and customers with special needs safely and courteously
• Marshal aircraft in and out of the ramp area
• This position requires you to work outside in all weather conditions
• Service aircraft as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid, unrestricted, state-issued driver’s license
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Pass a background check and drug screening
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Basic knowledge of fundamental computer programs for record-keeping and baggage routing
• Lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Adaptability to changing priorities and effective time management skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• This position requires a flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• This is a part-time position
• $16 per hour
