Job summary

Swissport in Sterling, VA is seeking a Passenger Service Agent to provide passenger services including reservations, ticketing, baggage handling, terminal check-in, and VIP assistance. You will coordinate with gate and ramp teams to ensure smooth passenger flow.

Fluent English is required, and proficiency in additional languages is a plus. You must be able to type and operate airline reservation/ticketing software, and be prepared for varying shifts and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Evening availability is required.
• Training hours require open availability.
• Passionate about customer service and relevant work experience.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
• Additional languages desirable.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Attentive to detail and numerate.
• Able to follow processes and learn airline software.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify passenger documentation.
• Issue boarding passes and reschedule affected passengers.
• Manage baggage processing and fees.
• Assist passengers with check-in and special needs (UM, VIP, wheelchair).
• Direct passengers through Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine.
• Make public announcements as required.
• Assist Ramp Service to load/unload items for departure/arrival.
• Comply with security requirements and Swissport SOPs.
• Operate jet way and airline reservation/ticketing software.
• Produce required work-related documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
