Job summary

Amentum is hiring an Aviation Structural Mechanic, Technician to support U.S. Navy maintenance at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves repairing aircraft structures, engines, and systems, following orders from higher grade technicians, and maintaining documentation.

Candidates must complete Navy AM “A” School or equivalent, pass background checks, and be able to obtain security clearances. Outdoor work, shift flexibility, and physical demands apply.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanics AM “A” School or equivalent.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform maintenance tasks is mandatory.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties.
• Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident).
• Must be able to obtain a favorable T3 Secret eligibility status.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and components using hand and power tools.
• Perform preflight, through-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals and data to determine repair methods.
• Supervise jacking and towing of aircraft and enter maintenance records.
