Job summary

Outagamie County is seeking an experienced Aircraft/Equipment Mechanic to repair and maintain vehicles, construction equipment, and airfield assets. The role reports to the Operations Supervisor: Airfield and requires heavy equipment maintenance experience.

Shifts run 2:00pm - 10:00pm with winter snow operations on a 12-hour schedule. The county offers benefits and paid time off for eligible employees working 20+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in mechanics with engines and heavy equipment maintenance focus.
• Airport experience and knowledge of FAA regulations preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience may satisfy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, diagnose automotive, construction, and airfield equipment for mechanical defects.
• Perform repairs and overhauls on gasoline and diesel engines and subsystems.
• Weld, fabricate, and reinforce vehicle parts and equipment.
• Maintain records of time and materials for each project.
• Conduct airfield safety inspections of runways and maneuvering areas.
• Assist in snow removal operations during winter weather.
• Maintain facilities and equipment as assigned.
