Job summary

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) – Airfield Maintenance at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport seeks an Equipment Operator Journey 1/2 Flex. Pay is hourly: Journey 1 $27.84/hr; Journey 2 $29.66/hr.

You will operate and maintain a modern snow removal fleet to keep ANC running year‑round. Requirements include Alaska CDLs: Class B for Journey 1 and Class A for Journey 2; a 180‑day path to Class A is possible.

Qualifications

• Alaska CDL required with appropriate class for Journeys.
• Residency restricted to Alaska residents.
• Ability to operate heavy airport equipment and perform snow removal.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, graders, dump trucks, and snow removal machines.
• Perform snow and ice removal on runways, taxiways, aprons, and related areas.
• Maintain airfield infrastructure through repairs and inspections.
• Communicate via radio while operating in an active airfield environment.
• Assist with emergency response and a range of maintenance tasks.
