As a member of the Airfield Maintenance team at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), you will operate and maintain one of the most modern airport snow removal fleets in the nation while helping keep Alaska's largest airport operating safely year-round.
If applying for the Equipment Operator Journey 1, please note that you will be limited to operating equipment that falls within the Class B CDL requirements. All Equipment Operator Journey 2 positions require a Class A CDL and are expected to operate all equipment.

This position is located at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, where you'll work at the center of one of the world's busiest aviation hubs. Most days, you will be part of a highly coordinated team operating specialized equipment in synchronized formations across runways, taxiways, and aprons, requiring precision, communication, and teamwork to safely maintain critical airfield infrastructure. This position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383), to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety sensitive duties, and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.
- A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required at time of hire. A conditional hire approval can only be given for endorsements. This means that the proposed appointee must successfully obtain an N-Tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
- A Class B Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required at time of hire. A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for this position. A conditional hire approval can be given to applicants that do not yet possess a Class A CDL. This means that the proposed appointee must successfully obtain a Class A CDL within 180 days of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and CANNOT start work in a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required Pre-Employment drug test. According to federal regulations, all violations and refusals will be maintained with the Federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse database.
This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
