Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Paint Technician for the Chattanooga, TN location.

The role is full-time and on-site, with a second-shift schedule from 3pm to 1am, including a 10%–15% shift premium, paid lunch, and opportunities to transfer to the 1st shift after 3 years. The position involves painting diverse surfaces, from standard stripes to intricate artwork, in a fast-paced hangar environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Vo-tech school in paint or on-the-job experience is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray.
• Sanding primer.
• Blowing and cleaning aircraft with thinner.
• Washing the paint booth.
• Applying all layers of paint to include top coat.
• Laying out stripe and design schemes.
• Prep and scuff paint to get ready for trim.
• Re-masking aircraft and detail work
• Inspect completed paint jobs.
• Paint mixing and paint matching
• Effectively and clearly communicate in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
