Aircraft Mechanic I - Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

Position Overview

Akima Technical Solutions (ATS) is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I specializing in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to work at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. This role involves working in a rotary-wing aviation prop and rotor back shop.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, adjust, repair, and return to service components from MH-6, MH-47, and MH-60 aircraft models, including gearboxes, rotor heads, tail rotor systems, stabilators, and rotor dampeners.
• Perform NDT inspections as required, using technical references.
• Document all work in ACN and adhere to PPE and hazmat protocols.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen able to obtain secret clearance.
• Experience with NDT methods such as Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Ultrasound, with documented OJT and hours, aiming for Level II certification per NAS-410.
• Ability to follow procedures, interpret inspection results, and maintain digital records.
• Own tools and toolbox, pass NDT vision testing, and have at least 6 years in aviation maintenance, including 2 in a back shop environment.
