This role requires 100% travel to work on high-profile projects such as transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more across various locations. It is ideal for someone who enjoys traveling, working on diverse projects, and advancing their construction material testing career.

General Responsibilities:

1. Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
2. Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, contractors, and others regarding project requirements and testing results.
3. Transport samples with documentation to the laboratory for testing.
4. Prepare and submit data and reports, both written and digital, regularly.
5. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
6. Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians.
7. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Travel to and from project sites as assigned.
• Perform testing, observation, and inspection according to training and procedures.
• Document findings clearly and accurately.
• Analyze data for accuracy before reporting.
• Communicate findings to the Project Manager and team.
• Possess proficiency in multiple testing and inspection areas.
• May train lower-level technicians and lead activities on projects.
• Maintain equipment and calibration.
• Follow safety protocols and report issues.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

• 100% travel required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Certifications and Additional Requirements:

• ACI certifications in areas such as Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I or Concrete Strength Testing Technician.
• Certification in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT Level II in nondestructive testing.
• Relevant certifications for specific project requirements.
• Successful completion of safety certifications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violations.

Preferred Certifications include:

• NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
• ICC certifications in reinforced concrete, structural steel, etc.
• Additional NDT or welding certifications.

The salary range for this position is $21.75 - $30.25 per hour, adjusted based on location, qualifications, and experience.
