Description

Summary: ATS is seeking Level II Radiographers and Level I RT Shooters to support our customer in Hampton, VA. This temporary contract is expected to last 6-12 months, with work hours of 5-10’s in a fast-paced environment, offering competitive pay and per diem. Castings X-ray experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities/Duties: Level I RT Shooters
  • Utilize NDT testing equipment for radiographic inspections.
  • Prepare components or equipment for inspections as directed.
  • Assist certified technicians in project completion and skill development.
  • Coordinate with personnel to determine scope of work and priorities to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment before, during, and after shifts.
  • Document training experiences if required by management.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Responsibilities/Duties: Level II Radiographers
  • Perform RT examinations according to procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Set up and operate NDT testing equipment for radiographic inspections.
  • Be familiar with scope and limitations of methods, and guide trainees as needed.
  • Communicate with department managers and clients to determine scope and priorities.
  • Prepare written reports and organize examination results.
  • Work independently and support team members.
  • Participate actively in safety programs.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level I Radiographers: Meet NDT RT Level I requirements, with formal RT classroom training, and basic computer skills.
  • Level II Radiographers: Meet NDT Level II RT requirements, with documented education, training, experience, and knowledge of industrial environments and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with film radiography is required; experience with DR and CR X-ray imaging is a plus.
  • Experience inspecting castings per NAS-410 or SNT-TC-1A is preferred.
  • Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course is required.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and follow company policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Pass drug screening and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • U.S. Persons only: Must have access to information subject to U.S. export controls under ITAR.
Work Conditions
  • Ability to wear safety equipment as required.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and around operating equipment.
  • Work with radiation and hazardous materials.
  • Shift work up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week, with possible overtime.
  • Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
