Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I to perform comprehensive maintenance on aircraft systems, including engines, sheet metal, hydraulics, and electrical components. You will read manuals, diagnose faults, repair or replace parts, and document work in maintenance records.

The role requires 3 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to operate a government vehicle; US citizenship for credentials is noted. Competitive hourly pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
3 years of aircraft, vehicle, missile, or related weapon system experience.
Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft or missile maintenance.
Knowledge of engine operations; rigging; electrical, pneudraulic and mechanical principles.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate a government vehicle.
US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.

Responsibilities

Repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical systems.
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and schematics to determine repair methods.
Disassemble, inspect, repair, replace worn components, and reinstall engine parts.
Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections and service aircraft.
Supervise jacking and towing; maintain maintenance records.
Commit to safety, quality, and procedure compliance in all tasks.
