Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I to repair airframe components and perform approved repairs under tight deadlines. The role involves following schematics, inspecting and testing systems, and maintaining accurate records for safety compliance.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of experience, and an ability to obtain the necessary licenses or clearances. A&P certification is preferred, with strict adherence to safety protocols and tool control.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of Aircraft Mechanic experience.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain licensing or clearance as required.
• Working knowledge of aircraft systems and common aircraft hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Uses schematics, drawings and technical publications to operate, test, troubleshoot and replace aircraft system components.
• Complies with FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
• Adjusts, repairs or replaces electrical wiring and aircraft accessories; performs preflight, thru-flight and post-flight inspections.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight controls, engines and auxiliary systems.
• Performs jacking, towing, records entries and ensures work is satisfactory; may service engines and airframe components at line station.
• Completes aircraft inspections including 100-hour, progressive, isochronal and other checks.
