Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Plane Captain (Line Mechanic) in Fallon, NV to handle aircraft, perform daily inspections, fueling, and marshaling tasks. You will guide and train staff, operate safety procedures, and ensure compliance with FOD and safety programs.

The role requires prior aviation maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Competitive benefits accompany this hourly position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance and/or flight line operations.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must obtain/maintain government/company licenses, qualifications, certifications, and clearance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Thorough knowledge of safety and maintenance manuals.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft flight line operations, handling, marshaling, and safety requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Must obtain/maintain Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.
• Must be certified in writing as a plane captain; re-qualify semi-annually.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily and turn around inspections as required to procedures.
• Initiates and completes maintenance forms.
• Performs aircraft fuel sampling/servicing per procedures.
• Launches and recovers aircraft.
• Serves as aircraft taxi director during launch and recovery operations.
• Tow aircraft and act as aircraft brake rider when required.
• Ensure safety and security of government and company equipment.
• Provides courteous and professional customer service.
