Job summary

Amentum is actively hiring for an Aircraft Avionics Mechanic I at NAS Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft systems including engines, hydraulics, and electrical wiring to ensure fleet readiness.

The ideal candidate holds Navy AE 'A' School certification with 5+ years E-2C/D maintenance experience and CDI/QA background, and is willing to work shift/detachment requirements while meeting physical and credential requirements.

Qualifications

• Shift work and detachments are required.
• Must Obtain CDI within 30 days of promotion/hire date.
• Minimum five (5) years actual and recent organizational level E-2C/D aircraft maintenance experience with 3 years prior E-2C/D Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have completed Navy Aviation Electrician AE 'A' School.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls.
• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and components using hand and power tools.
• Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections and routine servicing.
• Supervises jacking and towing of aircraft and records work performed.
