Job summary

Arizona Department of Environmental Quality ADEQ seeks an Environmental Technician to perform field tests, calibrate air monitoring equipment, and collect ambient air samples in Arizona. You will verify data, complete field logs, and support remote monitoring sites across the state.

The role emphasizes hands-on instrument service, troubleshooting, and adherence to QA/QC procedures, with a hybrid schedule allowing 3 days in-office per week within Arizona.

Qualifications

• Experience with ambient air monitoring and field instrument maintenance.
• Ability to calibrate and test air monitoring instruments and collect data.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, EPA Handbook guidance.

Responsibilities

• Perform half-field work maintaining and servicing instruments; complete logs and SOPs.
• Conduct remote air monitoring site visits per EPA schedule and ADEQ QAPPs.
• Verify data from continuous and manual instruments and identify anomalies.
• Document site logs, chain of custody, travel logs, and sample shipping.
