Job summary

The Arizona Department of Transportation seeks an Environmental Specialist 3 to support the Noise Program within Environmental Planning. You will perform noise modeling, field measurements, NEPA analyses, and prepare environmental documents, while coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, Planning, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in environmental compliance, implementation, and field related technical documentation.
• Knowledge of NEPA and federal/state regulations related to traffic noise.
• Experience with noise modeling and field data collection.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate noise and NEPA activities for ADOT Noise Program.
• Conduct noise modeling with FHWA TNM, CadnaA, ArcGIS; perform field noise measurements.
• Prepare environmental documents and review consultantwork; support Public Relations with technical data.
• Develop SOPs, guidance documents, and contribute to state/federal regulatory discussions.
