Job summary

NANA seeks a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to lead flight operations in Alaska, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal crew performance. You will plan, execute, and monitor flights, adhering to FARs and company procedures, while maintaining professionalism in dynamic environments.

The role requires extensive flight hours, leadership, and sound decision-making, with travel across the US and remote locations as needed; base assignment may shift to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• 2,500 hours of flight time including 500 hours cross-country, 500 hours night, 500 hours IFR
• Minimum 1 year of experience flying in western or Bush Alaska
• Thorough understanding of operations manual and company procedures
• Current aviation medical certificate
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Yearly simulator training is required
• One year training agreement
• Meet FAR Part 243 and 135.297 requirements

Responsibilities

• Carry out duties outlined in the Operations Manual with strict adherence to procedures
• Ensure safe and efficient conduct of the flight
• Maintain professional appearance and proper attire
• Flight Planning and Information: gather route, weather, NOTAMS, passenger and load info
• Review procedures and prepare/complete Flight documentation and risk assessments
• Pre-Flight Checks and Documentation: ensure paperwork, inspections, and maintenance authorizations are current
• Oversee weight and balance, fueling, de-icing, and cargo securing
• Maintain Flight and Maintenance Log including times, trends, cycles, and checks
• Document passenger boarding and cargo handling and other duties as needed
