Job summary

Pilot Assessments in Alaska’s North Slope seeks a North Slope Chief Pilot to lead a team of slope-based pilots, act as PIC on North Slope turboprops, and be the single point of contact for aviation matters with operations, safety, maintenance, and airstrip support.

This safety‑sensitive role requires extensive flight time, leadership in aviation safety, budgeting, training, and ensuring compliance with CFRs in a remote Arctic environment.

Qualifications

• FAA ATP with AMEL rating
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• 5+ years of aviation industry experience

Responsibilities

• Provide local oversight for all North Slope turboprop flight operations.
• Champion the aviation safety management system and manage safety hazards.
• Manage aviation surveillance program and share operational metrics.
• Coordinate with airstrip operations to resolve facility issues.
• Plan, direct, and schedule pilot work assignments in compliance with CFRs and labor laws.
• Develop and administer pilot training programs and qualifications.
• Recruit and onboard pilots for North Slope vacancies.
• Set performance goals and manage development plans.
• Prepare and steward the North Slope pilot budget.
• Ensure policy currency and airworthiness with maintenance teams.
• Perform PIC duties on North Slope aircraft.
