Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation seeks an Air Subject Matter Expert to lead environmental air permitting and compliance for terminals, pipelines, marine facilities, and transport fleets nationwide. The role offers strategic influence, leadership development, and travel up to 25%.

The position is full-time with flexible location within L&S network and requires building relationships with state agencies and internal teams to deliver compliant project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of current and proposed environmental rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate impact plans to local leadership for budget development.
• Ability to review engineering designs to ensure environmental compliance.
• TWIC credential or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor for day-to-day air permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and support implementation of new air regulations and NSPS determinations.
• Collaborate with other Air SMEs to expand program expertise.
• Lead air permit and compliance audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Represent L&S in meetings with stakeholders and regulators.
• Develop and deliver field training on air compliance topics.
• Own and advance the air permit and project tracking program.
• Set permitting priorities and coordinate internal/external resources.
