Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking an Air Subject Matter Expert to lead environmental air permitting and compliance across terminals, pipelines, and marine facilities. The role offers visibility, strategic impact, and collaboration with field Environmental Specialists to ensure regulatory adherence.

The position requires strong knowledge of air regulations (NSPS, NSR, Title V) and experience in a fast-paced energy setting. Location is flexible with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

15 years of environmental experience in process industries; or 7 years with a related engineering degree.
Strong knowledge of current environmental rules and ability to communicate impact plans to local leadership.
Driver's license required and ability to obtain TWIC.

Responsibilities

Lead air permitting and compliance efforts for terminals, pipelines, and marine/transport fleets.
Develop and implement guidance documents and training on air compliance topics.
Represent LS in rule advocacy and coordinate with state agencies and stakeholders.
Own and advance air permit and project tracking programs; set permitting priorities.
