Job summary

BB&E is seeking an Air/Hazmat/EPCRA/TSCA Lead for work at Glenn Research Center (GRC), spanning LF and GRC-ATF. The role focuses on leading air quality programs, regulatory compliance, and training at a federal facility.

The position requires US citizenship, 4+ years of related experience, and a BS/Science/Engineering degree. On-site work with strong safety and regulatory duties is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience preparing hazardous waste turn-in, shipping, and tracking documents.
  • Prior hazardous waste lab pack disposal experience.
  • Practical knowledge of HW management and hazardous material identification.
  • Familiarity with sources of information pertaining to chemical and radiological hazards.
  • Ability to safely move and load heavy drums and containers containing harmful products.
  • Familiarity with hazardous waste regulations and procedures.
  • OSHA and Federal Hazardous Waste regulations knowledge.
  • Problem-solving skills to address waste management issues and minimize risks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire air quality program to ensure it operates in accordance with compliance goals.
  • Prepare all correspondence and permit applications updates, and waivers in accordance with Federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain and update emission inventory data and sources.
  • Coordinate with site personnel and testing contractors to complete stack testing per regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect, monitor, and assess sources of air emissions and air pollution control equipment for compliance.
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training in support of the Center’s environmental compliance program.
  • Provide air permits and air permit-specific training to operators with each permit renewal or issuance.
  • Review SOPs associated with GRC air pollution sources for adequacy and regulatory impact of changes.
  • Support compliance inspections, internal audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, update, document, and provide in-house awareness training.
  • Manage chemical re-use process and chemical re-use center at LF and ATF facilities.
  • Review all Authorization Requests in HMMS for hazardous materials and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide general Hazardous Materials/EPCRA/TSCA Programmatic Support.
