Job summary

SpaceX’s Starbase, TX site seeks an Environmental Engineer, Compliance/Air Programs to manage EPCRA and air-permit filings, track hazardous chemicals, and ensure data integrity across emission processes.

You will collaborate with the environmental lead and manufacturing teams to design inventory systems, perform audits, and support permit amendments in a fast-paced, mass‑production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 3+ years of professional experience operating or building compliance programs in an industrial setting.
• Experience owning continuous chemical inventory and/or emissions tracking for EPCRA (Tier II/TRI) and/or air permit reporting.
• 1+ years performing process/equipment design reviews in mass manufacturing or high-throughput production.
• Experience with Title V or state air permit recordkeeping and periodic compliance reports in Texas.
• Knowledge of EPA, TCEQ, EPCRA, Clean Air Act and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate continuous chemical inventory tracking across a mass manufacturing site.
• Prepare and submit Tier II and TRI filings; archive calculations and submissions.
• Improve inventory tracking tools, workflows, and compliance calendars.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure data integrity and drive corrective actions.
• Own emissions and activity tracking; support reports and permit-related data.
• Maintain throughput metrics and monitor changes in production and materials.
• Coordinate emissions testing with contractors and process owners.
• Support permit applications, amendments, and renewals; update long-term plans.
• Monitor regulatory changes and brief management; maintain stakeholder relationships.
