Job summary

Okta Federal, Inc. seeks a seasoned Classifed Systems Architect to lead the architecture of a robust, air-gapped development platform for U.S. classified environments.

You will define architectural vision, select hardened tooling, and bridge DoD compliance with modern DevOps velocity, partnering with TDI, Product Engineering, and Security teams. The role requires extensive DoD classified experience, mastery of Platform One/Cloud One, Big Bang, Iron Bank, and strong Kubernetes within air-gapped

Qualifications

• 12+ years in systems architecture, DevSecOps, or similar with 5+ years in DoD Classified environments (IL6/Secret+)
• Deep DoD ecosystem expertise with Platform One/Cloud One, Big Bang, Iron Bank
• Strong Kubernetes (EKS/RKE2) and container orchestration in air-gapped setups
• Experience architecting solutions for DoD CC SRG IL6, NIST 800-53, and FIPS 140-3
• Proven CDS experience and secure data transfer workflows across Low Side and High Side networks
• Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture in restrictive networks
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to translate High Side constraints to stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture of Okta Federal’s SIPR/JWICS environments, aligned with DoD designs
• Design IaC and blueprints for air-gapped environments and cross-domain solutions
• Translate complex compliance controls into automated implementations with minimal friction for developers
• Guide selection/integration of High Side tools (e.g., Iron Bank) prioritizing compliant, maintainable solutions
• Review and approve architectural changes and major upgrades across the classified boundary
• Measure success with uptime, velocity, patch latency, and developer satisfaction metrics
• Establish technical strategy for High Side observability with auditing and visibility
