Forward Air Corp. is seeking an Export Specialist - Air to manage international air export operations from booking to departure.

You will plan routings, coordinate with carriers, and ensure documentation accuracy while maintaining customer and carrier relationships. The role requires 2+ years in international air export or global logistics, proficiency with CargoWise, and a readiness to work on-site in Des Plaines, IL.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in international air export operations or global logistics.
• Proficient with CargoWise; familiarity with other forwarding tools is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of air export documentation and Incoterms.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage assigned air export accounts and shipments.
• Coordinate shipments from booking through departure with optimal routings.
• Prepare and review MAWB/HAWB, invoices, packing lists, export filings.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regs, TSA/IATA standards.
• Utilize CargoWise to track milestones and maintain records.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, carriers, and overseas partners.
• Analyze requirements, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with airlines, agents, trucking providers, warehouses, and internal teams.
• Review rates, charges, and billing details for accuracy.
• Support onboarding and training of less experienced team members.
