Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day Air Export department to ensure timely shipments.
• Develop and mentor the Air Export team and resolve operational issues.

• Coordinate with airlines, co-loaders, overseas agents, truckers and warehouses.
• Review shipping docs (invoices, packing lists, AWBs) for accuracy.
• Monitor shipment status and address delays or service issues.
• Maintain compliance with US export regulations and company procedures.

Our client is an established international freight forwarder providing global air, ocean and logistics solutions to a diverse range of customers. They are looking for an experienced Air Export Manager to lead their air export operations and ensure shipments are handled efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day Air Export department, ensuring shipments move efficiently and on schedule.
• Lead, support and develop the Air Export team, providing guidance and resolving operational issues.
• Oversee the complete air export process, from booking through final departure.
• Coordinate with airlines, co-loaders, overseas agents, truckers, warehouses and customs brokers.
• Review and ensure accuracy of shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, AWBs and export documentation.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, exceptions and service issues.
• Ensure compliance with US export regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and overseas offices/agents.
• Assist with quotations, routing and carrier selection where required.
• Monitor departmental performance, productivity and service levels.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and customer service.
• Handle escalated customer and operational issues through to resolution.
• Work closely with sales and other departments to support business growth and customer retention.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Air Export freight forwarding experience, with management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international air export procedures and documentation.
• Experience working with airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers and transportation providers.
• Strong understanding of US export compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising an Air Export team.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Freight forwarding software experience preferred.
