Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Miami, FL is seeking an Export Coordinator to manage the movement of customer export shipments. You will be the main point of contact coordinating between customers, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

You will handle freight intake, charges, and documentation, negotiate with customers, verify invoices and manifests, and assist with customs clearance. The role requires quick problem solving and clear communication in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to generate complex, error-free charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Receives freight, documentation and waybills; assesses charges; and collects fees for shipments.
• Negotiates with domestic customers, as intermediary for foreign customers, to resolve problems.
• Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
• Contact customs officials to affect release of incoming freight and resolve customs delays.
• Itemizes charges, prepares freight bills, accepts payments and issues refunds.
• Notifies consignees of delays in departure of shipment; provides PODs to shippers if requested.
• Examine documents to verify conversion of weights or volumes.
• Converts currency figures into USD equivalents.
• Calculates duties or tariffs to be paid on merchandise.
• Correspond with foreign companies.]
