The Air Export Agent is responsible for coordinating international air freight shipments from origin to destination. This position ensures shipments are processed accurately, comply with export regulations, and are delivered according to customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and book air export shipments with airlines, carriers, and service providers.
- Prepare and review export documentation, including Air Waybills (AWB), commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Communicate with customers, overseas offices, airlines, warehouses, and trucking companies.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely movement and delivery.
- Provide shipment updates and resolve service issues or delays.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, TSA requirements, and company policies.
- Verify rates, billing information, and shipment details for accuracy.
- Maintain shipment records and update transportation management systems.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure customer expectations are met.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in air freight, logistics, freight forwarding, or international transportation.
- Knowledge of export documentation and international shipping procedures.
- Understanding of U.S. export regulations and customs requirements preferred.
- Experience working directly with airlines, overseas agents, and customers preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- DG (Dangerous Goods) certification or experience handling hazardous shipments.
- Experience with AES filing and export compliance procedures.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices.
