Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is seeking a Cargo Ramp Agent at ORD to load/unload cargo, coordinate with aircraft teams, and ensure secure handling of freight. The role requires attention to safety, good communication, and the ability to work in a busy, high-noise environment.

Responsibilities include operating ground equipment, reading load sheets, and maintaining security while supporting on-time departures under a union contract.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft cargo up to 80 lbs within cargo areas; lift, push or pull and position containers up to 3,200 lbs.
• Transport cargo to/from aircraft using a 3,000 lb vehicle and read off-load sheets to determine cargo destination.
• Engage in ground-to-cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands.
• Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material at express docks.
• Complete forms and messages necessary for designated duties at each location.
• Report unauthorized personnel in secured areas to authorities as required.
• Report to work regularly and on time.
• Work in a high-noise environment and on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

The work of a Cargo Ramp Agent loads and unloads cargo on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. Comply with WFS site security plan for assigned warehouse. This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft of cargo weighing up to 80 lbs. in and out of aircraft within confined cargo areas lift, push or pull and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers with/to aircraft.
• Transport cargo to and from aircraft driving 3,000 lb. vehicle using depth perception to negotiate vehicle with attached carts through congested area. Read "off-load" sheets to determine destination of cargo.
• While performing aircraft push-out and/or towing functions, engage in proper specific ground to cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands, with and without, the assistance of sight or visual aids.
• Receive, deliver, and physicallyhandlefreight and company material, export at the designated express docks,
• Completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described.
• Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas, and report their presence to authorities as necessary.
• Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work in a high-noise level environment.
• Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays, and days off

This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.
