Job summary

Avflight Detroit Metro is seeking an Air Cargo Supervisor to manage daily cargo operations in Detroit, MI. You will lead a team, ensure safe handling, and maintain regulatory compliance while enhancing customer service.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, overseeing loading/unloading, monitoring shipments, and developing training materials. The role requires strong leadership and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment with on-site and occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proven experience in air cargo operations or logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of air cargo industry regulations, safety protocols, and customs procedures.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of air cargo staff, ensuring proper training and safety adherence.
• Oversee loading, unloading, and storage of cargo to maintain efficiency and minimize damage.
• Monitor inventory levels and document cargo shipments accurately.
• Ensure compliance with internal and airline procedures.
• Assist in developing training materials for cargo operations and handling procedures.
• Ensure timely receipt of cargo and resolve delays professionally.
• Maintain records of shipments and incidents; monitor quality control and KPIs.
• Provide leadership to coordinate between handling and documentation teams.
• Oversee maintenance of building, office infrastructure, and GSE equipment.
