Job summary

SaidGig is seeking hands-on mechanical engineers to help evaluate and improve AI systems through practical design and analysis tasks. This is a remote, hourly, contractor role in an ongoing talent pool, with invitations issued when assignments open and rates set per project.

You will craft design problems, assess AI-generated analyses, and flag manufacturability and safety concerns, leveraging your real-world engineering experience to refine models and drive credible results.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering with professional design or analysis experience.
• Experience seeing a design built and evaluated in practice.
• Strong written communication skills relevant to explaining engineering reasoning.
• Comfort working through ambiguous tasks and clarifying instructions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Create design problems with loads, constraints, tolerances, and reference answers for evaluation.
• Assess AI-written engineering analyses, including free-body diagrams and safety factors.
• Identify designs that may fail in real-world use due to manufacturability, assembly, wear, or thermal expansion considerations.
