Job summary

Loop, a bold AI-native company transforming the logistics data space, seeks an AI Tech Lead Manager in San Francisco. You will lead a small team of engineers, stay hands-on with production code, and report to the Director of Engineering. Expect half time coding and half time hiring, strategy, and setting direction.

You’ll start with 3–5 engineers focusing on agentic automation in carrier expansion and expand scope over time. This is an in-person role in SF, in the office 4+ days weekly.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of software engineering experience with hands-on coding.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and modern JS frameworks.
• Experience leading engineers and shaping team growth.
• Interest in applying AI to customer problems and products.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the team and own project outcomes.
• Mentor engineers, conduct 1:1s, and perform code reviews with high standards.
• Own reliability, on-call readiness, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, design, and sales to ship thoughtful solutions.
• Build and evolve the AI harness, data pipelines, and validation loops.
• Balance hands-on coding with people leadership and hiring strategy.
• Write scalable, high-quality code across frontend, backend, and AI stacks.
• Drive engineering excellence and cross-functional alignment.
